Life With Archie #36 Magazine Edition that also comes with #37 is going bonkers

  6. Chris Basquit says:

Captain America #117 is going to explode even more now that Sam Wilson is taking over the mantle of Captain America in the comics, maybe he will eventually do the same in the movies?

New Kickstarter project from Erik T Johnson

Also, this, from the same email sent out by Johnson:
“For those still interested in Outliers news, work has begun to expand the story into a full graphic novel, hopefully one of three, to be published in 2016 by the highly respected Uncivilized Books. Look for more news this Fall”

  8. Chris Basquit says:

I didn’t know where else to post this, and the humansforlife.com website doesn’t have a contact. Has anyone else received their copy of Humans #0 in the mail? I opened it up and to my horror, the thing was shipped with a sheet of comic wrap that was cut up and tape down to 1 single piece of cardboard, and then put in a bubble wrap envelope. The comic has multiple stress marks on the spine and dents in the cover due to this. Completely ridiculous shipping from these people, I am wondering if anyone experienced this. I have pictures to prove this absurd shipping method. I absolutely despise when people don’t have enough common sense to ship a comic properly.

    • Sorry to hear yours came in bad condition. Someone else said the Same thing already. I got a bubble mailer in the mail today and cringed. It was the same shipping method as yours. Mine came in clean though. No stress marks or anything.

      • Chris Basquit says:

Thanks for the reply, i’m glad yours arrived safely, its sucks when a shipper does this. I have already sent an email to the 2 creators emails on their site so maybe they will do something about this since multiple people are experiencing the same thing. I know its not the creators fault as I am sure they are not the ones actually shipping out the comics, but maybe they can point me in the direction. At the end of the day its only a $5 comic but once the Image series picks up who knows what the comic will be worth

      • I think it is the writer tom who is shipping them out.

      • Chris Basquit says:

It is Tom, and he responded to my email with a rather refreshing response straight from the writer, I will be paying for a better shipping method to get a good copy of this book, here is his response:

        Hi Chris,

I’m glad you enjoyed the book, but I apologize for any inconvenience or damage. Perhaps our shipping methods weren’t up to the standards of the collector’s market which we seem to be now dealing with? To my knowledge all books were shipped in a comic book polybag and backed with cardboard in an oversized bubble mailer to prevent it from being damaged. Is this not sufficient? I’m not sure what happened. For $3 shipping, we can’t afford boxes and priority mail. I know that in order to lower shipping costs for everyone, we used Media Mail for most of the books, which sometimes isn’t the safest way to send comics. I have forwarded this to Keenan, who shipped the books. If you are unsatisfied, please send pictures of the damage to the comic. We can replace it or issue a refund for the damaged comic. However a replacement would be shipped a similar way unless we charge more for shipping.

I found an interesting interview with the creator of Five Ghosts, they ask him about the TV deal and he gives some insight as to how far along it is, who the writers are, and he says we could even see it as early as next summer.

  22. House of Penance #1 signed by Tomasi and Bertram on Midtown for cover price. Limited to 1 per customer.

  23. Steven says:

    Anthony,
I’m currently at a Con in central Mass this weekend. Rebirth books are hot. Selling between $8-10 for hero titles and 12-15 for the Rebirth 1.

  24. Dustin S says:

Has anyone done any investigating behind why Vision 5 is a $40+ book? Just a low print run? Gotta be hella low for that price.

  25. Chris says:

So I was wondering why Poison Ivy Cycle of Life & Death #2 had a small jump in price… decided to breeze thru the series, and from what I can gather #2 is the 1st appearance of Ivy’s ‘children’ (2 new female characters with accelerated growth, she calls them Hybrid Sporelings). More of a cameo since its last page, but they all live to the end of the series and leave on a bus into the larger DC world.

Issue 2 last page cameo of (as babies) Rose & Hazel
Issue 3 Full appearance of Rose & Hazel (still babies but growing up fast)
Issue 4 1st appearance of Thorn (another Hybrid Sporeling child)
Issue 5 1st appearance of Rose, Hazel & Thorn grown up.

DC Might never do anything with them but if they do, could be hot. There is also a new villain who appears but he may have died, doubt it since he was tossed into a river.

  26. Anthony says:

I guess it is showtime. Lol. I didn’t go back and look.

  27. Ken says:

Anyone noticed the upcoming Justice League of America #9 variant by Jim Lee? Cover art was just posted recently, and features the fight from BvS since it’s a leftover from the BvS variant series from a few months ago. People might have forgotten about it.

I have a ?? I’ve been of and on with collecting(ASM 1st series) and selling for a few years. Is the hot season the summer? I’ve sold books on the “bay” this month and lost my but off. Need some inside help

    • Anthony says:

There are a ton of things you can do to increase your chances of selling. Are you using auction or buy it now? Next Sunday is the worst day you can have an auction ending for example (Super Bowl)

  30. Kevin Verdine says:

I use auctions. And yes I didn’t list anything new today. Just get a little upset that I’ll see a book go for $35 one week then less than $10 the next. And this was a 10 year old lady death comic

  31. Kevin Verdine says:

Thanks. I will try it out. And I love this website. Even though you’re making me go broke. One more ? On auctions I’ve read that ending on a Sunday is good. But I maybe ending them a little early. Around 6-7 pm central time. Should I be ending them closer to 9. I seem to be getting more buyers on the west coast. Figured 9 pm here would be 7 pm there. Maybe more lookers?

  32. Dustin Saunders says:

Sinister Spider-Man 1 had a 1:15 Deodato variant… It’s pretty slick but I don’t think anyone knows about it. Just saying. Max print run possible for it is 2,724 but that’s only assuming that every shop that ordered a copy of it ordered at least 15. I’d guess it’s closer to 2k. There’s also a 2nd print variant that’s kinda cool, no idea on the print run though.

Is it just me, or is Heathen #2 heating up FAST!?

  36. Raymond Cho says:

    Hey dude!

Love the site! Just wondering if you had any info on a specific error variant: Wonder Woman Rebirth Gold Foil 1 – the error being a the back cover was made with silver foil (and not gold). There was one on eBay for $6500, but I just bought a raw copy and it’s got the same error… thoughts? Didn’t know if you could present it to the group to get more info on its rarity

In any case, keep up the great work!

    • Anthony says:

Raymond, I have. It heard of the error. But now I want to look into it. I am wondering if you should send that book off to Cgc and note the error. If it get added to the label you are sitting on a gold mine.

      >

      • Raymond Cho says:

Thanks for getting back to me! I’m definitely gonna send it off, so hopefully they make the same grading note (the one on eBay actually stated in the label that it had a manufacturing error). Here’s to hoping this is gonna be crazy rare!

      • Anthony says:

I hope. Man I love stuff like that.

  37. tim says:
